Welcome to the home of the team that usually drink, usually dance, usually bubble
3rd July... - Jonny Gill needs your help. No, not like that. He's having his name added to his number 19 shirt for next season, but isn't sure what to have on it. He needs your votes/suggestions. Just go to Banter Central's forum to vote.
Brace yourselves, I've unearthed some more pages from Euro's Secret Diary. They'll be published in the next few days. 1st July... - It might only have been an unexpected friendly, but it was a 16 goal thriller! I'm always inclined to call these high scoring games a 'thriller', purely because it sold more copies than Bad, Dangerous and Off The Wall. Match report here.
- New quote of the week, scroll down...
- It's the summer time and the weather is fine. Pre-season starts next month. Yep, Wednesday 6th August. Training will be every Wednesday and Sunday. More on this soon.
- More silly updates later this week.
19th June... - News from the Croydon Sunday League AGM about the future and things.
Banter Central FC to appear on prime time television... (update) - Oh it's true. 'Athletes Do The Funniest Things' will air in July at some stage. It was initially thought to be 21st June but it's been pushed back. When it does go out though, it won't be on some cable channel you haven't heard of either, oh no. We're talking ITV1 here. So get ready to set the Sky+ box or better still, get some popcorn and stay in to watch it with a great mate whilst you look out for the 6 best Banter players as they appear on TV with former Ministry Of Mayhem and Britain's Got Talent presenter Stephen Mulhurn.
David Baird to star in West End musical, Grease!
A giant poster was on the wall of a London tube station, London buses were bearing his cheeky grin, it appears The Icon will be starring in the West End! Fantastic news for Banter's number 20, but perhaps a little alarming for the club, as nobody is sure when or if he'll return to the football pitch after such a major success in his singing and acting career. Is there anything he can't do? Coming soon: The end of season DVD: pre-order your copy on play.com now. No, don't. Just talk to Cling.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK Monday 30th June "No cross, Wommy. No woss... Did I just say woss? Did I mean Jonathan Woss?" - Richard Cling getting all over-excited again. Wommy didn't allow a cross or a 'woss', whatever that is.
